Otherside Brewing Co. has awarded dynamic Perth electro-pop producers FEELS a grant to help them on their way to South by South West Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas.

FEELS were awarded $4,000 which will help with flights, accommodation, rehearsal studio hire and day to day expenses on their SXSW adventure.

The International Development Grant was awarded through Tapped by Otherside, Otherside’s creative industries funding program, designed to help emerging talent take their career to the next level.

Rosie Taylor from FEELS said Tapped was a great supporter of the arts.

“As young, local, emerging artists, we recognise the importance of support, not only financially but for valuing artistic practice itself, “ she said, “Tapped by Otherside understands the arts, they see the current lack of support for the arts and rather than talking about it, they are taking action.

“Support like this grant has the ability to change the course of an emerging artist's career and we think it's incredible that a local brewing company can support artists like ourselves!”

SXSW, a conference and festival celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries, is one of the biggest festivals of its kind in the world.

Rosie said access to SXSW was a huge opportunity.

“We are going to play five awesome shows to rooms full of the world's most respected music industry personnel!

“we hope to make valuable industry connections with international booking agents, management, publishers and artists - all of which we would not have the opportunity to meet, without going to SXSW.”
